Friends of the Garden of the Arts (FOTGA – sounds like ‘vodka’) is a non-profit organization set up to someday maintain the permanent green space that will be known as the Garden of the Arts. FOTGA will promote greening on the Avenue of the Arts where it runs through the adjoining neighborhoods of Washington Square West, Hawthorne, and South of South Street (SOSNA).

To get up to date information on the projects sponsored by FOTGA in support of the Garden of the Arts and greening in Philadelphia, go to:

Click HERE to join the Garden of the Arts list serve. You will receive periodic updates on the progress of the development of the northeast corner of Broad and South Street into the Big Green Building and the Garden of the Arts. We can also keep you informed about the progress of the Keystone Agricultural Zone project and the Percent for Green Space projects that FOTGA is sponsoring. There will be additional, ongoing garden focused projects such as composting and clean ups.

Due to the overwhelming demand for a garden plot in the Garden of the Arts, we cannot accept any requests to join our garden online. Unfortunately, all such requests will be disregarded. For more information on establishing a community garden in your Philadelphia neighborhood, please visit:
